From Vision to Impact
The Spark
The Advanced Health Education Center (AHEC) Foundation was born from a singular, powerful vision: to bridge the gap in specialized healthcare training. Our founder, Marilyn Sackett, recognized a critical decline in accessible education for mammography professionals—a shortage that directly impacted patient equity and the quality of life-saving care.
In 2023, alongside three dedicated healthcare educators, Marilyn launched a mission to turn the tide.

The GROW! Pilot Program
We didn’t just want to provide a class; we wanted to change the landscape of rural healthcare. We partnered with AHEC to launch the GROW! Mammography Scholarship pilot.

The Reach: We brought six technologists from three different states to our training center in Houston, Texas.

The Result: These professionals returned to their rural communities equipped with elite skills, immediately improving access to life-saving breast imaging in underserved areas.

A Vision Realized
The success of our pilot program proved that structured training support saves lives. Inspired by this impact, our team expanded their reach to create a permanent vehicle for change.
Today, the Advanced Health Education Center Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We exist to empower the next generation of healthcare professionals through:
