(Growing Opportunities for Women in Radiology) Mammography Fellowship, sponsored by the AHEC Foundation, is a premier initiative dedicated to advancing the careers of women and professionals in the radiologic sciences. Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and clinical practice, ensuring that every fellow transitions into a registered mammographer equipped to serve their community with the highest standard of care.

The Fellowship Experience

The GROW! Fellowship is designed to support the next generation of specialists. Selected recipients will participate in AHEC’s comprehensive 40-hour initial training program, meeting all FDA MQSA requirements. To ensure a seamless path to ARRT registry eligibility, we offer two distinct clinical pathways:

• Pathway 1: Coordinate your initial 25 supervised scans through your employer or a supporting clinical facility.

• Pathway 2: Utilize AHEC’s network of clinical partnerships for your initial 25 scans.

Commitment to Success: 2026 Requirements

To maximize the success of our fellows, we have enhanced our prerequisites for the 2026 cohorts. To be considered for this prestigious award, all applicants must now provide a Letter of Facility Participation. This commitment ensures that you have a guaranteed clinical environment to complete the 75 additional mammograms required for your ARRT registry. Our goal is not just to train you, but to see you fully registered and thriving in your new career.

Scholarship Benefits

The AHEC Foundation is proud to remove the financial barriers to advanced certification. Chosen fellows will receive:

• Complimentary round-trip airfare (per AHEC guidelines).

• Hotel accommodations curated by AHEC.

• Rental Car or Mileage Stipend

• A daily per diem stipend for food and incidentals.

Candidate Selection & Eligibility

Each cohort consists of two exceptional individuals:

• The Experienced Professional: A technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical imaging.

• The Rising Star: A new graduate from an accredited program (within the past 12 months).

Note: All applicants must be currently ARRT-registered (or provide proof of registration by the application close date)
