"I’ve always been interested in mammography..."
My Story
I’ve always been interested in mammography, and the timing just felt right when my old supervisor—who used to teach this program—told me about it. Life kept getting in the way after graduation, but I finally have the chance to do something I’ve wanted for a long time, and I’m really excited. At first, I thought getting into mammo would be harder, especially experience-wise, but coming here and seeing people from all different stages of their careers makes you realize that anyone can start. One of the things that stands out to me about this field is how serious cancer is, especially in this modality. Knowing that I’ll be part of someone’s journey, and that every interaction matters—that’s what motivates me. I just want to be someone who brings encouragement during a really difficult time. If you’re considering applying to the GROW Fellowship, I’d say: do it. You’re not going to regret it.
